Echo Beach Bali

General Information

Another popular place in Bali which is the utmost popular place for surfing. Also exist in Canggu along with Canggu Beach as popular spot for those who really want to are looking for new surfing experience.

Beach Name

Pantai Batu Mejan

The locals, Indonesian including Balinese people actually has an original name for it. It is known with the name of ‘Batu Mejan Beach’ or ‘Pantai Batu Mejan’. As ‘Pantai’ is for ‘Beach’ in Indonesia word. There is a reason why the locals call it ‘Pantai Batu Mejan’. It actually takes the name of a significant Balinese Hindu sea temple on site, The Batu Mejan Temple. Later on, many tourists especially foreigners just call it as ‘Echo Beach’.

Sand Color

Most people said black or a dark grey will be just a perfect description. Since the sand is black which is absorbing heat, the temperature in the beach will be naturally hot in the noon. So, it will be perfect to visit in the evening especially in sunset.

Activities

Water Activities

Primarily suitable for surfing. Swimming just for those who have already enough experience since the wave is very high and strong. Not recommended for those who are beginner in swimming.

Beach Activities

Sunbathing will be perfect. Just sitting and watch the beach especially sunset while enjoying seafood culinary dishes in the seashore. Sight seeing and take a stroll along the beach.

Location

Echo Beach in Bali is in Badung Regency, Canggu Village which exist at the end of Jalan Pantai Batu Mejan or ‘Batu Mejan Beach Road’. The road name also originally named from the  temple there. Below is the location on the map :

Access

From Kuta and Seminyak, just go for about 22 miles northwest. From Denpasar, just take a drive around 8.7 miles to the west.
